Part of the BMJ Global Health supplement on digital health in South Africa, this paper describes the MomConnect helpdesk, and the various challenges and successes it has experience.

At the time of writing, the helpdesk had received over 300 000 queries at an average of 250 per day from 6% of MomConnect users. The service is entirely free to its users.
